Black Eye Peas Sundal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of black eye peas
  • 10 Green chillies
  • 3 Red chillies
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon of coconut
  • Large pinch of Asafoetida
  • Small pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Seasoning:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of Urad dhal
  • Curry leaves

Procedure:

  1. Soak black eye peas over night and then pressure cook until 2 to 3 whistles or u can microwave it for 15 minutes.

  2. Then take a pan add oil, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

  3. Then add  uraddal and add black eye peas.

  4. Then add greenchillies, redchillies, salt, asafoetida, and turmeric powder.

  5. Allow it to boil for 2 to 3 minutes  and finally Coconut and add curry leaves.

Note:

  •  It is a very good source of protein and fiber too and easy to make.
