Kaara Appam

Ingredients:

  • 1Cup of Toordal

  • 1 table spoon of Uradhdal

  • 1/2 cup of Bengalgram or Channadal

  • 1 cup of Rice

  • Small pinch of Asafoetida

  • 15 to 20 green  Chillies

  • 4 to 5 inch of Ginger

  • Salt as needed

  • Oil about 1/2 litre

Procedure:

  1. Wash rice, thoordal, channadal, uradhdal  and soak for an hour.
  2. After an hour grind it with little water, greenchillies, asafoetida, ginger and salt  but don't grind too softly, grind coarsely.
  3. Take a pan, pour oil for about 4 inch to 5 inch and let it heat.
  4. And slowly add the batter to it and it should deeply fry and take out when it is brown.

Note:

  • When grinding do not add too much water because you have to pour the batter like appam.
